EVENT HIGHLIGHTS AT THE FREIBURG CHRISTMAS MARKET
Our event highlights make the Freiburg Christmas market an experience like no other. At the children’s bakery at the Kartoffelmarkt, for example, children can bake their own sweet treats to take home afterwards. On 6 December, St. Nicholas himself will be one of the honoured guests. If you’d like to take a moment of contemplation, some Advent meditation (“Lichtworte”) at St. Martin’s Church might be the very thing for you.

The Colombipark, with its impressive lighting concept, boasts an enchanting atmosphere and an attractive photo opportunity directly in front of the Colombischlössle. Come by and send your loved ones a lovely selfie taken in front of our little castle!
HO, HO, HO,… CHRSTMAS IS COMING!
Every year, at 5:00p.m. on 6 December, St. Nicholas journeys from afar to join us at the Freiburg Christmas market on Rathausplatz. He brings a huge sack of presents with him, of course! All children are cordially invited, as are the adults, too!
CHILDREN’S BAKERY AT THE CHRISTMAS MARKET
Bright eyes, rosy cheeks, flour-dusted noses… Children love baking biscuits. And in the children’s bakery at the Christmas market, they can let their imagination run wild. The cosy little bakery on the Kartoffelmarkt is where the littlest bakers can conjure up their own Christmas creations – constantly under careful supervision, of course. They can also take their biscuits home afterwards, if they like.
Baking for visitors of all ages costs €4 per person and begins at 2:00p.m. every day. Register directly at the children’s bakery.

Take a moment to pause and immerse yourself in music, words and silence. St. Martin’s Church on Rathausplatz invites you to undertake some contemplative Advent meditation every day at 5:30p.m., starting on 1 December. Let tranquil moments of reverence wash over you.
